In the SE of SA we didn’t have a spring, it went straight from a very cold winter to summer, where until a few days ago we’d only had a couple of days over 30. Shows just how the temperature varies around our great land. Today it went from 40 early in the day to 23 now. 5.05pm.

I didn’t have access to the Data Dashboard so couldn’t see what was happening there. But I guess the 8 or 10 hours of sunlight helped during the day. It was bloody hot and I was hoping for a breeze, too. As for breaking records I kept hearing that the record set in 1898 may have been broken. That means it took 117 years for that record to be broken, if it has. Bloody stupid media only want to grandstand to sell air time and papers.

Mornings are cold. Can’t wait to read the BOM propaganda. Not enough RE today in SA.

I`d be completely off grid and not have to rely on a very suspect and expensive grid where RE that requires no fuel is dearer than fossil fueled power. I have used solar on or caravan for many years and spent weeks on end in the bush with just solar and gas, and we never used much gas as we cooked mostly on a fire. The solar and two hundred aH of batteries supplies enough power for lights and the TV the radio and charging mobile phones, cameras, running the fridge and a good deal more when needed. So I have extensive knowledge of solar and its limitations and its ability. Rooftop solar for individual homes is the way to go.
